Innovative concept

A brewery farm in the heart of the Appalachians, Frampton Brasse is an ecologically friendly company using the newest technology. Our company is particularly distinguished for its use of geothermal energy, which is a green energy where the temperature of soil is harnessed to keep the desired degree of the fermentation tanks constant. Thus, the result is an ‘energy saving’ at a time when energy demands are increasingly causing questioning.

In addition, due to its complex brewing method, Frampton Brasse has had to conceive of its own brewing equipment.

What is decoction?

Since the micro brewing revolution, the preferred brewing method in North America has been called ‘single infusion’. As you have probably read on our labels, we at Frampton Brasse, use a method called "decoction". The main difference between the two methods - decoction method and single infusion is the mash – a decoction mash is a step mash where the malt is mixed with water, then a part is boiled much like making a soup. ‘Decot’ meaning to concentrate by boiling and may involve more than one cycle of separating a decoction, boiling it and returning to the mash. The single infusion method, as its name implies, will only infuse. This is the oldest brewing method in the history of beer as we know it today and was developed before the advent of thermometers. This approach originates from Germany where it is still widely used today. This gives our beers a unique character and allows for greater control over brewing.

Authentic Product

As we are a brewery farm, the company grows its staple - barley.

Frampton Brasse uses only pure ingredients including, water drawn from the source, malt and hops. The result is a distinct product from which the exceptional flavors are ready for the enjoyment of the consumer. Our beers will please both the avid amateur and the novice eager to discover a new taste.

Local production

Engaged in contributing to the regional trade, Frampton Brasse encourages local business when possible, through the acquisition of its products and equipment. It also targets a more regional market.
